Sri Lanka (Ceylon) Bandarawela Region Raw Coffee Beans are processed according to their own traditional time-tested methods that have been clearly influenced by the region's altitude, sun exposure and expertise of the farmers. Wet (washed) and dry (natural) methods are used depending on the climate conditions, while each method yields coffee with different characteristics. A mix of Arabica and Robusta coffees are produced in this region as well, while a broader spectrum of caffeine content and flavours are developed.
We make sure that our raw coffee beans are collected from smallholder farmer groups that are based in villages in Bandarawela as well as selected plantation partners that practice responsible farming. Therefore, relatively small batch sizes undergo careful selection while larger orders are planned in advance across multiple micro-lots across the region. Once the coffee beans are collected, our facility process begins. The screening, grading and sorting of the green beans according to their moisture levels and quality are carried out to meet international standards before packing and delivering around the globe.
