Sourced from village-based smallholder group farmlands and selected plantation partners, our Sri Lanka (Ceylon) Kotmale Region Raw Coffee Beans come in carefully selected small batches from the beautiful Kotmale region of Sri Lanka, belonging to the central province, which promises a salubrious climate. The raw coffee beans are then delivered to our facility where they are properly screened, graded and sorted according to their moisture levels and uniformity. Once these processes are carried out accordingly, the raw coffee beans are packed under safety standards.
The Kotmale region coffee processing uses a method akin to the natural or dry process of coffee bean processing, which results in bold, fruity profiles with a rich body. This method is known to be one of the oldest and most intuitive methods of coffee processing, while it can also be done by hand sans any machinery. The ripe cherries are picked and laid out to dry under the sun for about 2 - 6 weeks.
Such handcrafted traditional methods enable us to produce unique flavour profiles that identify Kotmale Region coffee as its own. The Kotmale region Raw coffee beans come in a mix of Arabica and Robusta coffee, which in turn offers a broad spectrum of flavours and caffeine content, enabling them to suit a wide audience world over.
